The Betrayal Blueprint: How Women Weaponize Support in the MRR Game

The Truth About MRR – Episode 1
By Sonya Richardson | All Things Create

Let’s get real: some of the deepest cuts in business don’t come from competitors.
They come from the very women who once clapped for you.

They come from fake “collaborations,” secret jealousy, and unspoken expectations that explode the moment money enters the room. Especially in the world of digital business and Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), betrayal can wear lip gloss and hashtags. And while everyone’s preaching “Women supporting women,” the truth behind the curtain is a lot messier.

Here’s what makes this even harder to stomach:
All three of these women created a program together.
We were supposed to build something powerful. Uplifting. Transformative.
And instead, it taught me just how cutthroat this MRR (Master Resell Rights) world really is.

This is Episode 1 of The Truth About MRR, and today I’m sharing my story.
Not for revenge—but for clarity, closure, and the next woman coming up behind me.
Let me show you how three women tried to hurt me under the disguise of support, loyalty, and “just wanting to see me win.””

Woman 1: When Collaboration Becomes Competition

We had a mutual opportunity tied to a GoHighLevel tech platform. She casually recommended I check it out, and I did—on the spot. I Googled it and signed up through the first link I saw. What I didn’t know was that she was expecting to earn monthly commissions through an affiliate link—something she never communicated. The person running the Google ad got the referral instead.

That one unexpected move? It shifted everything.

She stopped showing up to the Monday night onboarding calls that she had volunteered to lead in my MRR community—calls she once described as “her way of giving back.” Just weeks earlier, she said, “I love Academy Six. I love it here.”
Now? Nothing but shade.

Then came the full-on attack.

She launched a six-week social media campaign trying to tear down my name.
Passive-aggressive memes. Subtle jabs. Shady digs.
I saw every post. I felt every shift. But I stayed quiet, thinking my silence would protect the peace.

But here’s what I know now:

Silence doesn’t stop sabotage. It only emboldens the insecure.

Eventually, I had to block her—not because I was being petty, but because I was done pretending that gaslighting was grace. Her “collaboration” wasn’t pure. It was strategic—and when the strategy failed, she turned me into her target.

Woman 2: When Loyalty is Just Lip Service

We met in the coffee shop of our small town. The connection was instant—at least I thought so. I believed in her so much that I gave her a full module to lead inside my business. I wanted her to grow, to shine, to feel seen.

Then she pitched her tea business. I responded with respect:
“Yes, I’ll buy some when I get back to Florida.”
No shade. No brush-off. I simply wasn’t in a place to receive orders at that moment.

But then, the same pattern: she began engaging with Woman 1’s shady posts.
Clapping in the comments. Reacting to the mess.
Co-signing chaos she knew was targeted.

I gave her the benefit of the doubt and reached out. I asked if she knew the posts were about me. She denied it. Said she had no idea.

But her energy never came back. She stopped contributing inside the MRR program. Months passed without a word—yet she continued interacting with the very content designed to tear me down. And then she popped back in, asking for access again.

Like nothing ever happened. Like loyalty doesn’t leave receipts.

Let me be clear—being from the same hometown doesn’t mean we’re aligned.
Loyalty isn’t about geography. It’s about energy. And your energy always tells on you.

Woman 3: When Jealousy Dresses Up as Support

She was in my inner circle. She had access to conversations, tools, coaching, and community most people only dream of. But when two other women in that circle started rising—getting visible, building confidence, gaining traction—jealousy took root.

Instead of clapping, she got cold.
Instead of rising with them, she started watching them with envy.
She aligned herself with Woman 1’s content, subtly showing her support for the mess.

Meanwhile, she stopped paying her $7 subscription—a cost so low it was practically a gift. I reached out with compassion. Gave her grace. Offered options to help her catch up.

But grace doesn’t matter to someone who’s already decided you’re their competition.

Eventually, I had to remove her from the program. And that’s when she did the unthinkable—she began attacking other women in the community, dressing it up in religious language, using praise posts to mask passive-aggressive jabs.

She used scripture like a shield while throwing stones.
She posted with “God is good” while gossiping through the captions.
Spiritual gaslighting at its finest.

That’s not discernment. That’s deception.
That’s not favor. That’s falsehood.
And I refuse to let it poison the space I worked hard to build.

What I Learned Through It All

These women didn’t just try to hurt me—they revealed some brutal truths about female dynamics in the digital space. Here’s what their actions taught me:

1. Every smile isn’t sincere.
People will praise your work publicly and plot your downfall privately.

2. Collaboration without clear communication is a setup.
If the expectations aren’t transparent, disappointment becomes a weapon.

3. Your success will trigger those who don’t feel secure in their own journey.
Especially when you’re a woman who builds, leads, and shines without shrinking.

4. Spiritual manipulation is real.
Using scripture to justify pettiness isn’t divine—it’s dangerous.

5. Not everyone who starts with you deserves to stay.
Growth will always expose motives.

Why I’m Still Standing

I don’t share this for sympathy. I share it for clarity.
To remind you that when you rise, resistance will rise with you.
But resistance doesn’t mean retreat. It means refinement.

I’m still here. Still building. Still aligned with my assignment.
And guess what? So are you.

Because when God anoints your name, no amount of jealousy, gossip, or betrayal can cancel your calling.

CLIMB Action: Check Your Circle

Take inventory of the people around you right now:

  • Who celebrates you in public and in private?

  • Who only supports you when it benefits them?

  • Who’s been quiet while others tried to tear you down?

  • Who makes you feel like you have to shrink to keep the peace?

It might be time to clean house.

Final Word: The Truth About MRR

This is the side of digital entrepreneurship they don’t show you on the highlight reel.
The side where collaboration gets twisted. Where loyalty is performative. Where jealousy hides in DMs and passive posts.

But hear me loud and clear:
You were built to rise through it. Not in spite of it—but because of it.

Let them watch. Let them whisper. Let them walk away.
You’ve got a vision to protect, a message to deliver, and a legacy to build.

And this is only Episode 1. The truth will keep unfolding.
